Guess Who’s 2!

with 3 comments

I really can’t believe it, but my little Jenna is 2 today.  I can’t believe how fast that little monkey has grown.  I am so blessed to have her as my daughter, even though she does love to whine loudly these days.  She is certainly no longer a baby which is great and kinda sad for me and her mom.

As for Jenna’s 2-year photo session, we didn’t really know what to expect.  For her 18 month session, Jenna was an absolute monster/devil.  She wouldn’t stop moving and she certainly wouldn’t cooperate.  For this session I got all of the gear ready while Katie played stylist.  We put Jenna in front of the camera and the little model in her turned on.  We burned through the first look in minutes.  It was an extremely pleasant surprise!  What I expected was going to be hours of torture turned out to be a fun and pretty hilarious time.  Some of the poses she did on her own cracked me up!

Happy Birthday, kid!  Daddy loves you!

Madison in September

without comments

I was in Madison, WI to photograph a wedding in the middle of September (see previous posts).  Luckily I had plenty of time on Friday night and Saturday morning to rekindle my love for the city, specifically downtown.  The capitol square and State Street is one of my favorite places to be on earth.  Add to that equation September on a Saturday morning and you have a perfect day.

Saturday in the summer and fall in Madison means the farmer’s market.  Vendors from all over the region set up tents all around the square to sell fresh produce, crafts and other items.  There are also plenty of street performers and people watching opportunities.  What we were always more interested in, though, was the Stella’s Bakery tent.  Spicy cheese bread, cinnamon rolls, danish, impanatas…

Back to what I was talking about!  I had the entire morning free to wander around and take it in.  I did a personal photo walk and here are some of my favorite shots!

Long story short, I’m very glad that both my day job and my weekend job lead me back to Madison regularly.
